Review: Victoria Beckham's: That extra half an inch

I've owned this book for quite a while now but I thought It deserved a mention as the tips and advice it offers have been very useful. It is essentially Victoria's style book. But unlike a lot of other celebrities who write style books this is actually really informative.

This book is spilt into sections jeans, accessories, make-up etc. There are pages at the end of every section to write notes on. There even is a great section on pregnancy, detailing Victoria's favourite lotions and potions to prevent stretch marks. There are also tips on the different styles of clothes to wear to flatter a pregnant figure.

My favourite section is obviously the beauty one :) Here she details the best powders, foundations, mascara, concealers etc. It has lots of lovely photos and interesting extras. I find myself picking this off my bookshelf every so often to re-read it. This book is definitely worth a read.

If anyone has any beauty book suggestions, I'd love to hear them :)

Favourite lip products this month

In the month of October I've been wearing these two lip products the most. One I wear out at night or to dinner and the other I've been wearing everyday. The perfect night out lipgloss is Revlon ColourBurst in number 016. Its a gorgeous deep plum. The great everyday lipstick is NO 17 lipstick in Beehive.

NO 17 Beehive is to the left and Revlon 016 on the right

The NO 17 Lipsticks are very moisturising on the lips which is great in the winter when lips tend to dry out easier. And as we've had our first snow here this morning it looks like it will be a very early winter this year. :) The nude colour is also very flattering for everyday wear.

The Revlon lipgloss is a very daring colour for me but I think it can look really great on some skintones.

3 ways to Improve your Hair

I've tried so many different heat protectors for my hair as I have to use a lot of heat on my hair. My hair is dry and wavy and I also use heat on my hair every single time I wash it. So I usually struggle to keep it in good condition. But I’ve worked out a way over the last two years. Firstly I changed from washing my hair everyday to only washing it every 2-3 days which made a huge difference. I now use a dry shampoo if I notice it getting oily on day 3.

I started using got2B guardian angel Heat protection it works for temperatures up to 220 degrees. This has stopped my hair getting split and dry at the ends. And lastly as i mentioned in a previous post Moroccan oil is my hair saviour. These three things combined have made the biggest difference to my hair. I hope this helps some of you which the same problem :)

Soap and Glory Flake away scrub

This gorgeous scrub not only smells soo good it actually works!  I use it before tanning or for taking tan off. It has Shea butter, sugar and peach seed powder. It moisturises the skin while exfoliating dead skin away. It smells just like Miss Dior Cherie..Yum yum!!

The formula is thick with bits of sugar to exfoliate

Perfect before a big night out or special occasion. Or if you have dry skin like me, I use it twice to three times a week.

Naked Palette Dupe

I know not everyone can afford £30-£35 for Urban Decay eyeshadows. So when I was in Superdrug a few weeks ago, I spotted the Essence range had a metallics eyeshadow quad which looked very similar to some of the Naked Palette eyeshadows, I was excited! Especially as the Metallics quad come with a gel eyeliner too! And to top that off it was only £1.50 :)

The colours are pigmented and glide onto the eye. Definitely worth £1.50. So run and get yours before there all sold out....

Urban Decay Naked Palette

I’ve been using my Naked Palette everyday since I got it about 3 months ago, I absolutely love it! Its so easy to pick out a new colour everyday to wear, however lately I’ve been sticking to 3 colours and using them everyday religiously. I use Sin all over the lid and blend it up into the crease then I apply Buck into the outer corners and up into the crease to create some definition. And lastly Virgin is my brow highlight colour and sometimes I use it in the inner corners of my eye to brighten my tired eyes.

These are the colours I use for my everyday eye. Virgin, Sin and Buck. As you can see I'm touching pan on sin. Its also gorgeous on its own!

This palette is so versatile; I can do a dramatic black or grey Smokey eye for night time or a brown Smokey eye for day time. But mostly I stick to a very natural daytime eye which this palette is so great for.

Autumn/Winter New favourite nail polish combo..

I know its only Autumn but its already feeling like winter here so its time to get out the winter nail polish. YAY!

Monsooner or later

My two favourite autumn/winter nail polish are always OPI 'Lincoln Park After Dark' and 'Monsooner or later'. I know the latter one to a lot of people is a summer nail polish but to me it’s always been very autumnal. However this year I’ve been adding a little Christmas touch to my nails by painting the ring finger with OPI glitter (don't ask me the actual name it peeled off a long time ago). It looks great, and the formula of both of these colours goes on like a dream....
